A list of what I miss

As a militay member, I am currently stationed in Germany. I've been here for almost a year and a half now. I've been back to the States twice since I've been here, but never for long. So, in case you were wondering what someone misses when they are overseas, I've compiled my own list:

Olive Garden, outlet shopping, my money being worth more than 74 Euro cent, stores being open on Sundays, high end malls like Fashion Island or South Coast Plaza, my mom, clean playgrounds for my daughter with safe equipment, Picture People, having a full time job that pays well, warm Californian weather, wide streets, freeways with four lanes, (yes, you can speed like crazy here, but there are typically only two lanes, so if one is messed up - it's awful.), good Mexican food, my friends, the beach, fresh seafood, a backyard, better yet, a front yard, being able to communicate - for the most part - with everyone, well that's about all I can think of right now.

There's a lot more that comes to me daily, but that's enough, you get the idea.........

Now, can someone please send me a neverending pasta bowl from the OG?

Have you and your buddies started talking about what you want to eat first when you get back? ;~D

From a guy thrown into retirement kicking, screaming and entirely too early, I'll just say; Enjoy the time while your in and while your there. It all ends far too soon.

((((Of course, if you're not enjoying it at all, it probably can' t end too soon! ;~D ))))

Mmmm...good Mexican food and warm weather. I miss those too, and I'm in America! (-3 right now. Been colder the last few days though). Kinda good to know that you really like the country you are serving, eh? Tell me more about German living.

I agree about enjoying it! I love the travel opportunities and the experiencing the cultures - I just wish I could have some of the other stuff too!
